After 5 years as senior engineer and before 4 years as scientific assistant at the Chair of Polymer Technology, Dr.-Ing. Matthias Hopp leaves the University of Paderborn and moves from research to the plastics processing industry. He also hands over the position as managing director of Kunststofftechnik Paderborn gGmbH to his successor. We wish him all the best for the future and much success in his new job.

Mr. Brüning has already been a research assistant at the chair since 2018 and studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University with a focus on plastics engineering until he graduated with an M.Sc. degree. In Paderborn, his PhD topic is in the field of simulation of solids handling in the feed of grooved barrel extruders using DEM simulations. We are pleased to welcome him as a familiar face now in the leadership of the chair.
